KPV (Lys-Pro-Val)
KPV is a tripeptide consisting of lysine-proline-valine — the C-terminal three amino acids of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH). Research has explored its anti-inflammatory activity in models of inflammatory bowel disease, atopic dermatitis, and allergic inflammation. Unlike full-length α-MSH, KPV does not cause skin pigmentation, making it a preferred research tool for isolating the anti-inflammatory arm of melanocortin signaling.
