LL-37 (Cathelicidin / CAP-18)
LL-37 is the only human cathelicidin antimicrobial peptide and a critical component of the innate immune system. The 37-amino-acid sequence cleaved from the cathelicidin precursor (hCAP-18) exhibits broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against bacteria, viruses, and fungi in research models. Beyond its direct antimicrobial action, LL-37 has been studied as an immunomodulator, wound-healing factor, and chemoattractant for immune cells.
