SNAP-8 (Acetyl Octapeptide-3)
SNAP-8, also known as Acetyl Octapeptide-3, is a synthetic octapeptide modeled on the N-terminal of SNAP-25 — the same SNARE complex protein targeted by botulinum toxin. In topical cosmetic research, SNAP-8 has been studied for its proposed competitive inhibition of SNARE complex formation, which in preclinical models reduces catecholamine-induced muscle contraction. Often called a 'topical Botox' analogue, though research effects are substantially milder.
